You're functioning, but are you okay? 🫧

Hey dear Reader,

Some of the people I work with are functioning, showing up, and achieving. But they're carrying much more than they let on.

For a while now, I've felt that my coaching toolbox wasn't quite enough to support them in the way I wanted to. So I went back to school for a Certificate of Advanced Studies in goal-oriented counseling, with a focus on mental health.

In my conversations with clients, I often see successful, experienced professionals set out to achieve something. They rarely disappoint. But then, they keep going. The next goal. The next responsibility. The next thing to solve. Pressure, stress, and pace take over. And somewhere along the way, they lose touch with their why.

They hide it well, even from themselves. The same drive that got them this far can make it hard to notice when they need to pause.

When you're already depleted, asking "What do you want?" is usually not the right question. It can feel overwhelming. Answering it means stopping, reflecting, and potentially making changes when you barely have the energy to deal with what's already on your plate.

That's one of the reasons I chose these studies. I want to better understand how people can find their way back to themselves and strengthen their mental health before things become really difficult. I'd like to give you time to slow down, step back from the expectations around you, and ask yourself: Is this still what matters to me?

At school, we're working through challenging cases involving trauma, depression, personality disorders, and other significant mental health conditions. Every time I'm there, I'm struck by how much people can bear, and how hard life can become.

And it convinces me even more of the value of starting earlier. That's where I see my work: not as a quick fix, but as a place to begin, to slow down, and understand what's going on.

I'm building an expanded toolbox, so I can support people in ways that go beyond traditional coaching questions. I'm already applying some of my new learning with clients who've given me the green light. Now, I'd like to deepen this work with a discounted pilot program for three people:

The Return Track

Six months, six sessions, and space to come back to yourself.

Who this is for

This program is for people who are still functioning, still showing up, but feel drained, empty, anxious, disconnected, or exhausted.

Maybe you've lost your drive and are mostly operating on autopilot. You're getting through the day, doing what needs to be done, but without much energy, joy, or sense of purpose.

Or maybe you're running non-stop to keep up. You're juggling a full calendar, moving from one demand to another, with no real pause in between.

It might show up as low mood without a clear cause. A sense of resignation that this is just how it is now. Or an impatient voice insisting, "I should be fine, so why do I feel like this?"

You know something isn't quite right, but you're not sure what can change.

You may not always get to choose more balance, fulfillment, or joy. But that doesn't mean you don't deserve them.

Together, we'll look at what's within your influence and where you can take action. It might be an internal shift, a boundary, a conversation, or a decision.

This is coaching, not therapy. I don't diagnose or treat. If you're navigating something clinical or acute, please work with a licensed mental health professional alongside or instead of this program. I'd tell you if I think that's the better path for you.

As with all of my coaching work, everything we discuss stays confidential.

What you get

A safe place to breathe, reflect, and open up. No need to have a goal. No pressure to have it figured out first. We start where you are.

  • We look at what gives you strength, energy, meaning, or joy, and how you can make more room for it.
  • We explore beliefs or behaviors you know aren't serving you but you haven't been able to let go of on your own. Something like saying yes when everything in you wants to say no. Or the quiet rule that rest has to be earned (I wrote more about this here →).
  • We make sense of what's getting in the way and identify what could help.

You walk away with more clarity, a lighter load, and a little more room to be yourself.

What's included

  • Six 60-minute online sessions over six months.
  • Ongoing access to a voice and text app for questions and reflections between sessions.
  • The same trusted, non-judgmental space I always create, now supported by methods and tools I'm learning through my studies.

Your investment

CHF 799 (approx. EUR 855, USD 1,000).
This is a pilot offer while I continue building experience with the new approaches. The package is priced at the same level as my standard three-session coaching package, while giving you twice the number of sessions over six months.

The pilot starts in September or October.

If this sounds like you, or like someone you care about, reply to this email or book a free chemistry call (click here). I know reaching out for this can feel harder than contacting me for career coaching. That's exactly why the chemistry call exists: no right or wrong, no commitment, just a conversation.

Whether or not this program is for you, I'd love to know: what do you do to look after your mental health? A habit, a person, a place you go to reset. I'm curious to hear from you.

Keep shining,
Yvonne

Hey dear Reader, A while back, I wrote about parenthood and careers. Many of you reached out, commented publicly, shared privately. It turned into a full article because it touched something real. [Read here] But I want to go further, because the conversation is bigger than parenthood. I'm lucky to have a broad network. Not everyone in my life is a parent, and I've had equally candid conversations with people who have no children. What goes unsaid: the professional struggles don't disappear...

Hey dear Reader, Have you ever chased a goal, only to realize it wasn’t yours to begin with? Lately, I’ve been reflecting on ambition. It's such a celebrated trait these days. Look at what’s possible if only you want it! You can have it all if you work hard enough! It’s tough, but you can do it! Ambition sounds confident. Determined. Maybe even a little aggressive? But a lot of us don’t really know what we want. Most people don’t have a five- or ten-year plan. Or if they do, it doesn’t...
